Day One - The Beginning
As I know nothing about making "niche" blogs I decided to do a little research before making my web site.
First this I needed to learn was SEO which I did not have a clue about. I started reading the book, SEO bible. It was extremely useful and I realized this I never knew before.
The first step was picking a topic for my site. To avoid copycat sites I will be private about my chosen topic. How I chose my topic was I pick something I was interested in that I did not mind blogging about. Next step I googled my topic to check the competition and lucky for me there was not much competition. Third step was to check google keywords and looked up popular and high paying keywords. These keywords I decided to use for my blog.
I already had a hosting plan so all I had to do was buy a domain name. I ended being able to pick a short name using my main keyword however I had to choose a .ws domain. I am hoping this does not disadvantage me too much.
I decided to use wordpress as I have read this is easy to use to help create good niche web sites with good free SEO plugins. The problem was finding the right theme. Unfortunately I was not able to find the perfect layout so I ended up choose a theme called "bluesense" which is designed for adsense ads. I was able change the layout a little to my liking however it was not perfect. Since I was in a rush I decided to keep the layout as it was until I developed it a bit more and time to make my own theme.
Now time to start posting. At the moment my first goal was to finish doing all the pages as those were what contained the majority of my content. At the moment I have only completed two pages I am hoping by tomorrow I get most of the important pages finished.
The Adsense Challenge
OK so its not so much just adsense I will be using. I will be trying other ads and affiliates.
The challenge is to be able able to get my blog to be able to make $10 per day by 2 months
Hopefully if the challenge goes I can make another challenge for my self.
Mini Goals
I am hoping by day 4 I have all my pages finished and published
Within the first month have my website indexed on google and make it into the first page
During the beginning of the 2nd month start to get a lot of hits and see some cash!!
